Frequently Asked Walk Questions - FAWQs

  • No! It costs $0.00 to sign up and attend JDRF’s OneWalk. JDRF only asks that you register on their website ahead of time. Click Here and then choose Join This Team.

While JDRF One Walks doesn't require a registration fee, we encourage all participants to fundraise and make a donation. In fact, the average walker raises over $400 for research to help cure T1D.

Donations can be made via cash, check or online. All checks should be made payable to JDRF.

Registering online gives you access to a number of great fundraising resources and lets JDRF keep you updated on the latest JDRF and Walk info. It also gives their team an idea of how many people to expect at each Walk, so they can plan ahead.

With close to 150 JDRF One Walks across the country each year, there's always an opportunity to get involved. Whether you'd like to start or join a corporate or family team, walk alone—or you prefer to volunteer—you can choose what works best for you.

  • Update Coming Soon

  • Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. In T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone the body needs to get energy from food. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. And, at present, there is no cure.

WE’RE STRONGER TOGETHER

Our team name is HUNTER’S DIABUDDIES and we are walking for a cure to end Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).

When you have T1D, your body stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. Managing the disease requires constant attention that involves monitoring your blood-sugar level, administering insulin, and carefully balancing these insulin doses with your eating and activity. Even with a strict regimen, people with T1D may still experience dangerously high or low blood-glucose levels.

With T1D there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope. And that’s why HUNTER'S DIABUDDIES is supporting the JDRF One Walk this year.

Scientific advances are being turned into therapies that are changing the course of T1D. And together, we have the power to drive these therapies to market as quickly as we can.

We hope you will join our 5K-team or donate to our fundraising goal! By joining the JDRF One Walk, you'll be part of the lasting footprint we'll make for the T1D community now, and for generations to come.

Thank you for your support!
